- HOW TO FIND ME:
There are two easy ways to keep track of my blog; you can make an RSS feed to your web homepage, or bookmark my homepage in your web browser.
- How to make an RSS feed:
Click on the following link <http://aspiring85.wordpress.com/feed/>
The link should open in a new window or a new tab. There, in the drop-down menu, you have the option to choose where you want the feed to show up. Live bookmarks is a Firefox feature, which will create a standard, though up-to-date bookmark of my latest entry. The other main options are Yahoo, Google and Bloglines, where the feed will show up on those sites. This is ideal if one of them is your homepage or if you have an account with them. An example of what the feed should look like is given underneath the drop-down menu. For whatever reason, this process does not work in Safari, but works brilliantly in Firefox. I haven’t tried it with Internet Explorer, so comments on that are appreciated.
You can also make an email RSS feed through the widget in the sidebar. Just fill out the info in the widget, and you will receive email notifications when I update my blog.
- SNAPSHOTS:
These are basically the most annoying thing ever. These are the preview screens that pop up when you run your mouse over a photo or a link. You can turn them off by clicking on the gear wheel that appears in the top right corner of the snapshot. Click disable, and then you have the option to turn them off for all sites, or for only my site. Then click save, and you’ll be told that you need to refresh the page to save the setting.
- Comments
Comments await approval so they do not appear immediately after posting. Please don’t post twice; your comment will appear if and when I approve it. Comments are also filtered for spam, and I just delete my spam inbox. If you are commenting from your workplace or for some reason think that your comment improperly got shifted to spam, try again from another location. If you are a spammer, go away.
- Links
I have links on the right-hand margin menu, and they are divided by “Favorite Places” and “Familiar Faces” categories. If I know you, and you blog regularly, send me a link to your site and I’d be glad to add you to my list.
