About this blog
My name is Rachel, I'm 24, and this is my blog. I'm an aspiring writer with a serious case of wanderlust. I am currently writing from Compiegne, France, where I'll be until July 2011, while doing an assistantship through the French government teaching English to elementary school kids. I'm trying to make this blog something to be proud of, even if I lack consistency. I'll try to share my best pictures, regular updates on my life, links and news of interest, and maybe -hopefully- even the occasional short story. Comments, ratings, and other interaction is highly encouraged!-

Intruders??
Since I was robbed, my typical paranoia has been raised to a level of near insanity. In the days immediately following the robbery, I found that I would shake (knees, hands, the whole bit) anytime I had to walk anywhere … Continue reading
Woo! The dollar went up!
I just saw a sign that the exchange rate just changed in my favor. Now $1 = approx. 545 Colones, instead of the previous 500. It’s not a big difference, but when 200,000 Colones used to be $400, it’s now … Continue reading
Down the drain
There has been a rather unfortunate focus on drains in my living quarters lately. The other day, the cap that covers the sink drain broke. So, I took it out, thinking it would be easier to deal with a hole … Continue reading
