I felt the need to set aside a page of this blog to say THANK YOU! All of my education and travels would not be possible (or enjoyable) without the support of my friends and family.
Between grants from school, letters of recommendation, financial support, and simple encouragement, many people have played fundamental roles in making my journeys possible. Additionally, many of my mentors and peers from college are the people who inspired my travel plans in the first place. I cannot tell you how grateful I am for that push that I always need to get an idea out of the planning stage. I have been able to live my dreams, and that is all thanks to the support of the community behind me.
My family, and their extended network have taken the time and money for letters, packages, and Skype calls, and they mean the world to me. As for my dad: I don’t know how anyone manages without him to double-check their bank account and make sure all their ducks are in order with taxes while being away. My mother has taken time to make extra cookies, think of me while she buys chocolate and cards, and sends them all off to me for every holiday on the calendar. There’s absolutely nothing like a taste of home to cure homesickness. I have scared and bewildered both of my parents for my travel choices and distance from communication technology on many an occasion. Nevertheless, they always remain supportive and encouraging, despite the gray hairs I cause them. Thank you!
My friends, family, mentors, and other supporters have all contributed in making my travels possible and enjoyable by keeping in touch across far distances and long spans of time. The blog can be a tedious and sometimes seemingly fruitless pursuit, but even just knowing I have a few readers makes all the difference. Traveling abroad can be an amazing adventure, but without support and people to call home to, it can be a lonely prospect. Thank you to everyone for all that you do.
